Collaging for Allah

Closer to You Than Your Jugular Vein

يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ

I seek nearness to Allah. I seek nearness to myself. While tiptoeing and going back and forth between learning about me and continuing to recognize and learn more about the Creator, I recognize that like Hadith says, "Know yourself and you will know your Lord", they are connected, bound to one another. Allah is in me, from the moment of creation to the continuation of my existence. In knowing myself, in knowing my Lord, I will know of this world and the people, of the next world, of the unseen, there is nowhere else I have found utter peace.

I cut off my tongue because tragedy does not know how to express through elegant words. Truth is, I still do not know what to say about the tragedy that occurred on January 7th, 2020.
I can only send prayers as I visit the cemetery. I can only see them in my sleep and have reminders in every waking moment. May the spirit of the deceased be at peace and may patience be given to the families of the departed. May no act of war take the life of the innocent. Again. I don't know what else to say. But their reminders are everywhere.
